I wanted to quickly pop-in and share an update for this week. Admittedly, not too much has changed from last week, with one major exception. We have paint! To back-up, this is week four of a six-week room makeover called the One Room Challenge, hosted by Linda at Calling it Home. Make sure to check out the featured bloggers and all of the guest participants!
This is my third ORC, and I’m tackling the smaller of our two guest bedrooms. You can check out the full plan here, and see status updates here and here.
And of course, I wouldn’t be the ORC without something going wrong. So while paint got on the walls on Sunday (Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams), it also got all over the floor. Four times. The first time our dog walked through the paint tray and left paw prints behind. The next two times, I managed to not set down my handy paint pail correctly and it fell off the step-ladder. And the final one, was when an entire can of primer somehow tumbled out of a laundry basket and off the bed. Thank goodness for rugs, am I right?
At this point, yup, I behind. Luckily, I took Monday off work to deal with some other house stuff, and plan to pretty much spend all day in here! It’s going to be down to the wire on this one, but I think I can still get it all done.
One item I’m debating is the nightstand. I can’t decide if this Ikea Rast makes the room too cluttered? Should I find a more streamlined, open nightstand or give this one a makeover?
