Welp, I certainly didn’t mean to go on a blog hiatus after sharing our farmhouse fall back porch! But, I’m back and today, I wanted to share a few shots of the porch all lit up at night. If you haven’t had a chance, make sure to visit the previous fall porch post for tons of fall inspiration in our rustic fall porch tour.

Night time on the Back Porch
A few year’s ago, we added cheap string lights from Target around the awning. They lasted about a year and then blew a fuse on a gusty day. We replaced them with much heavier duty lights from Costco (similar ones found here). They did take a tumble during Hurricane Irma when one side of the awning fell, but nothing a few new light bulbs didn’t fix.
We love to have a drink out here in the fall, when the Georgia weather cools off. It’s a pretty perfect place to unwind after a long week with a glass of red wine. If I am taking a late afternoon call, I’ll move my laptop out here and set-up shop.
The pups love it out here too, though one more than the other! Our older dog prefers to stay out here all day, keeping an eye on the culdesac for intruders. Also known as the UPS driver. When he’s ready for a nap, he either hops up in one of the wicker chairs or snoozes on the bench.
I get a ton of questions about the awning, but it was the one thing the previous owners left behind (literally – they ripped smoke detectors and mirrors off of walls) so I don’t know its origin.
I’m a huge fan of faux candles. You won’t find many real ones in my house, with the exception of a few Christmas candles. These tall pillars are from Target, and they have a timer. The lanterns are Pottery Barn, but you can find similar ones at Target too.
Happy fall y’all!

Sure do love your porch. Friends always enjoy ours with a great pack of pork chops on the grill and a glass of wine in hand. Those lights hanging above yours are such a great added touch too. Another room of the house is what they make it. xo

Thank you, Diane! Having great outdoor space was really important to me when we bought our house for exactly the reasons you mentioned. It’s a wonderful place to gather with friends!
