I think everyone has a part of their home that they constantly change. For me, that’s the dining room, and specifically, the dining room buffet. I was looking back through some old pictures this week of when I first launched the blog and was amazed how much this one space has evolved.
Below are a few of the snapshots taken during the past year. I can definitely see my style taking shape as I look at each picture. I’ve embraced a neutral, textured look, with some color for each season. I’m working on the fall 2016 look now and it’s one of my favorites!
Fall 2015
It started out very simple, with just the candle holder and wine bottles. This is also before I learned to turn off interior lights when photographing interiors. It’s amazing what you learn in a year!
Christmas 2015
Christmas last year was the first time I really went full throttle on decor. I loved everything about this – especially the red berry wreath and my DIY Noel sign.
The greenery really made this space pop – from here on out, there was pretty much either faux or real flowers or something green up here! I also really liked bringing out some of our wedding gifts to use for decor. They are way to pretty to keep stored away on the time. This pitcher is from Crate + Barrel.
Everyday
This was the everyday look for awhile. Simple, but with a lot more texture than the first picture. The eucalyptus wreath and faux hydrangea add some texture, and this was the perfect place for my Moscow mule mugs.
4th of July
You can see the Easter version here too, but the 4th of July decor was one of my favorites this year. The banner and USA signs were from the Target dollar spot. The milk glass also starts to make an appearance and it’s a more layered look than the others.
September 2016
And here’s what it looked like most recently. It’s a little torn apart right now as I’m figuring out what I want to do for fall this year. Some pieces will make a re-appearance and others will be new to the space. The dough bowl I picked up at the flea market earlier this summer and it’s become a staple piece of decor in the dining room. Who knows, maybe I’ll also get crazy and swap out the table runner this year!
Thanks for taking this trip down memory lane!

Pat, thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! I never thought I’d be one to change things up so frequently, but I just can’t help myself 😉
