The lovely ladies at Thoughts of Home on Thursday are hosting a fun link-up today featuring tiered trays. Be sure to hop over and take a look at everyone’s entries for a ton of great fall inspiration. I realized that I’d never actually decorated my tiered tray with anything but food for parties so I thought it would be fun to participate and try something new. While I own several cake stands, I only own two tiered stands. One is our fruit basket (from Crate & Barrel), and the other is a 3 separate glass stands that can be stacked or used separately.
Rustic Tiered Tray
For this challenge, I decided to use the glass version. Even though it’s still 90 degrees in Georgia, I wanted to create something a little rustic with some fall flavor. I started with the two faux plants (from Ikea), and added some of my spray painted pine cones. It felt like it was missing something, so I added a few small milk glass pieces and some other natural elements. Finally, it needed some color so two faux red blooms added just enough.
Right now, the tray is a centerpiece on my dining room table. In fact, part of the reason I do so much decor in the dining room for the blog is because it’s the room with the best natural light. The huge picture window lets in so much light and make such a nice backdrop for photographs.
The milk glass pieces are part of a new set that my cousin gave me for my birthday. I’m growing quite the collection of milk glass – I can’t wait to get our kitchen shelving installed so I actually have a decent place to display it.
I think I’m finally getting in the autumn spirit … perhaps the plaid pillows and pumpkins will make their debut this weekend. I did purchase a few mums from Costco this weekend for the front porch; fingers crossed they stay alive (I do not have the best luck with mums).
Happy fall y’all!

Hi Jenn! I love the way you did your tiered tray. Texture is the word that pops right into my mind because you have several different textures incorporated that make me think of fall. I love the seed pod flowers, the acorns, and the balls. Very pretty!
So glad you shared at the party today. 🙂

Your tiered tray is just beautiful. It is a challenge to think about fall when it’s so hot, isn’t it?
LovelandLodge says
Thank you Eilis! It so is – the high here is 83 this weekend and I’m like – is that cool enough for boots? Looking forward to when it actually cools down!

Very pretty! The rustic pieces look so pretty with the glass tray. Perfect to start the Fall decorating. It has to be much cooler for me to really get into Fall decorating although I did get 3 mums this week.

I totally agree! 90+ makes it really difficult to get into fall. Here’s to hoping it cools down soon. And thanks so much for commenting!
