Welcome to the reveal of our home office makeover! The goal for this makeover was to turn my husband’s former man cave into a proper home office. With him working mostly full-time from home, we wanted to create a space where he can be productive and inspired.
Before we dive into the full reveal, a huge thank you to Linda at Calling it Home for hosting. Make sure to check out all the amazing makeovers. I can tell you from experience that blood, sweat and tears go into these makeovers and the support is amazing over at the One Room Challenge website. I also want to give my husband a very special thank you. He was incredibly patient while I worked on this room and willing to use it while it was a work in progress. He provided input but trusted the vision in my head. I’m so happy for him to have a dedicated office and am incredibly thankful we were able to do this.
To catch-up on our makeover, check out the updates from the past five weeks below.

After
And here’s how it looks today:
New office furniture replaced the old futon and thrift store finds. Most importantly, we added a desk and some much-needed storage to the space.
On the other side of the room, we swapped the TV and display cabinet to each corner.
And yes, the wall AC unit still exists and I’m including it in photos. At the end of the day, we all have eyesores that we have to deal with. And you know what? With the lighter wall, it doesn’t stand out at nearly as much.
And the new floors look amazing! The vinyl plank was installed on Saturday, just in time for the reveal.
On the wall by the door, I hung three pictures of vintage Alabama program covers. Yes, it’s my husband’s office but I had to sneak in a little roll tide 😉
I also love some of the details we added to the room to make it more personal. By each wall sconce are our diplomas.
In the display cabinet, we arranged a lot of the smaller golf and college items to make it more of a collection.
And, of course, we kept his Master’s putting cup.
Above the storage unit, I hung some vintage golf clubs that are a mix of my husband’s father’s and grandfather’s clubs.
And the storage unit from Ikea is great for holding items he needs for work, and for displaying some more family mementos, like his uncle’s binoculars.
And workout gear lives in the seagrass basket (and partially hides the outlet!).
Thank you again for joining me on this journey!

I loved looking at this update and it looks fabulous! Especially enjoyed the golf clubs being his dad’s and grandfather’s and Uncle Bob’s binoculars. They all played a very special role in T’s life.

Such a great use of this space! I love what you did in here Jenn, so smart to use that storage unit with the baskets and your styling with the golf clubs behind it is so clever! It all looks great!
