As usual, my weekend plans didn’t go exactly as I had intended, but it happens and I still got a ton done! We had another rainy Saturday so once again my plan to paint the screened porch was postponed (though I finally got to it on Sunday so look for that soon!). The post today was supposed to be a review of Move Loot, which I used to buy a new dresser/TV stand last week – but my delivery is delayed until Friday instead of yesterday, so that post will be coming as well!.
Instead, I thought it’d be fun to share a round-up of some blogs that have inspired me when it comes to home projects and blogging. While I only started following more home decor blogs within the past year or so, I’ve been reading other blogs for years – I love my RSS feed (I use feedly) to keep up with posts.
The Ugly Duckling House – I love Sarah’s way of describing her projects and what she takes on. While I’m not nearly as handy as she is, it seems like our houses have a lot of similar issues – like too many pine trees and cedar siding that needs repairs, and she’s been a great resource before I decided to tackle a few of these items.
Southern Hospitality – I definitely identify with bloggers that have homes similar to mine (1970s fixer uppers!) and I love seeing what Rhoda has done with hers. It gives me great hope that the outside of our house can improve one day! Plus, her style is so great. I used her tutorial for painting the stripes in her laundry room for the screened porch and can’t wait to show you how it turned out! Plus, it was my first time using a chalk line and now I want to paint stripes all over the house.
Bless’er House – While I’m too chicken to try out all of her great DIYs, this blog is so full of fantastic ideas to make your house your own. We have a similar opening between our kitchen and dining room and I’d love to do a wood beam door frame – it just adds so much character to the space.
Remodelaholic – This blog is so chock full of small and grand DIYs, sometimes I don’t know where to start. But, I do know that the tutorial is going to be detailed and spot on. This email newsletter is one of the few I save in my inbox that I know I’ll reference later. I just checked and I have at least 10 saved, with these DIY house numbers at the top of the list.
And outside of home decor, my favorite blogs are Go Fug Yourself, Red Carpet Fashion Awards and the Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor. I have a thing for fashion as well as home decor …
Who am I missing? What other blogs are you reading that you love?
