Spring is chugging right along, and while it took awhile to land permanently in Georgia (we had a lot of teasers!), I’m glad to see it here (minus the allergies). Our yard is full bloom and we have some exciting outdoor projects on the horizon. April was full of parties and projects, with a quick weekend getaway thrown in, and a room makeover underway.
The bulk of April posts were all about the One Room Challenge, and the makeover of our hodge-podge guest room into a usable office/guest room space. I’ve made a ton of progress and will be mostly done by next week’s deadline, with a few exceptions. Below is my room inspiration, using Polyvore. This was my first time creating a mood board for a room makeover and I can’t recommend this step enough for DIY decorators. It really helped me create a cohesive look and narrowed done my options for color palettes, accessories, fabrics, lighting, etc. You can find parts one, two, three and four here.
In our house, April also means it’s time for The Masters. I shared my DIY Masters sign for the grapevine wreath, along with a fun spring tablescape. Of course, no trip to Augusta (or virtual trip, in our case) is complete without pimento cheese sandwiches and Arnold Palmer’s. You can find the full menu for a golf-themed party here.
I also added a few spring touches to the kitchen, working in some blue and pink for some fun pops of color. It’s super cheerful and the blue accents are a nice change of pace from the red (which I’m sure will make a reappearance for the 4th of July).
Finally, my husband and I also celebrate our wedding in the month of April so I shared a few of my favorite detail wedding photos from the day. If you haven’t taken a peek, there is lots of vintage farmhouse/cottage eye candy in that post! I still dream of a front porch like this one day 🙂
What’s ahead for May? Well, of course, the reveal of the One Room Challenge will happen Thursday, May 12 (with a sneak preview this week!). I’ll also share a recap of my whirlwind trip to Universal and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (a must for any book-nerd, like me). Mother’s Day is this coming weekend so lookout for a celebrations post, recapping the menu and a new tablescape. And, I mentioned those outdoor projects above so hoping to be able to share more of where that’s headed this month.
Cheers to May!
