Everyone knows that used strategically, mirrors can make a room look bigger and bring in more natural light. That’s very true in our house since most of the windows are on the back side of the house. We’re also planning to use some mirrors in my mom’s master bedroom on one wall. While their room has two windows, there are lots of trees right outside both windows, not allowing as much natural light as you might think. Placing some mirrors on the wall with a window will give the illusion of more windows (and more natural light – at least we hope!).
While we love the Garden District Mirrors from Ballard Designs, the price point was a tad too high for this makeover. My mom is still keeping an eye out for these as the Ballard outlet, but it’s sometimes hard to find three of something all in good shape there. I started searching for some other options. We definitely wanted a series of mirrors – two, three or four, depending on size. While one mirror isn’t too bad price wise, it starts to add up if you are looking for more. My goal was to try to keep the total under $150 total.
Louisa Wall Mirror – Joss & Main
This one from Joss & Main is $47.95 per mirror, but the size allows us to only do two, instead of three.
Susa Wall Mirror – Joss & Main
I love the square shape of this one, wit the antique glass. The large ones are $40.95 and three would look great on the wall in my parents’ master.
Kelly Wall Mirror – Joss & Main
This is a full set of four mirrors, which gives you a lot of options for figuring out how to hang them. Price on these is $143.95
Better Homes & Gardens Square Mirror – Wal-Mart
For the price, these are a fantastic deal. I can’t speak to the quality, but they look great online. Unfortunately, the are out of stock as of this posting, but there’s a place where you can submit your email for when more are available.
How do you us mirrors in your home?
