Welcome to our Very Merry Christmas Living Room! You saw a glimpse of the living room when I shared the dining room a few weeks’ ago. As you can see, one room opens right into the other, but our living room is sunken. Keeping in line with classic nature of our 70s contemporary ranch 😉
Christmas Living Room
I’m pretty traditional when it comes to Christmas decor, but I dialed back the red this year and brought in more neutral and green elements. This is the view when you come in from our garage door, and it makes me smile every time.
I’m still loving our new coffee table. I keep the decor pretty simple, but filled a Christmas pitcher with some fresh greenery, and added a bow to the ginger jar (where our remotes live).
On the couch, I left our two olive green pillows but added some holly ribbon. The red star pillow covers are H & M, and the postage stamp pillow is from Ross.
Behind the love seat, a new metallic Christmas train was added. It was a gift last year so I’m excited to have it out for the first time. Love the gold and silver finish.
O Christmas Tree
Our tree always has a mix of family ornaments and shatterproof ornaments collected over the years. On top this year, I used some pretty neutral ribbon, with some hints of green and red.
I added a few tree picks from Pier One for a little more dimension at the top.
Christmas Mantel and Shelves
On the mantel, I swagged some faux garland along with some more ornaments and twinkle lights. Our stockings are hung with small hooks on the underside of the mantel. I like this method more than the traditional stocking holders – they feel much more secure.
On top of the mantel, I printed out some free Christmas carol printables and placed them inside the vintage window. Christmas carols have a special place in my heart. My mom is an amazing piano player, and every year, she played carols growing up and we all sang along. Some of my favorite Christmas memories involve her playing the piano and I thought this was a great way to honor those memories.
And the last stop in our Christmas living room is the shelf by the front door. I mixed in some milk glass and blue and white, along with some pops of red. I have a tendency to overcrowd these shelves so tried to keep it simple and clean.
And that’s a wrap on the Christmas living room! I’m aiming to wrap up the rest of the tour this week, so be on the lookout.

I love your living room and it’s more traditional look. Those poufs in front of the fireplace give it a fun look. Great looking home.
