Welcome to the next stop on my 2017 Christmas home tour! Today, I’m sharing our Christmas kitchen. If you missed the other rooms, feel free to visit via the links below.
Christmas Kitchen
Last year, I went a little overboard and heavily styled the kitchen with tons of Christmas goodness. While it looked great in photos, it was a little much for everyday life. This year, I simplified things a little bit.
Here’s a view of the kitchen from the dining room. I added ribbon to the cabinets again to display Christmas cards, but did a solid red this year. Instead of doing every single top cabinet and the pantry, I only did the four main cabinets.
And here’s the view from the other side. The snake plant that usually lives in the living room is hanging out in the kitchen for the holidays.
I found some cute Pottery Barn Christmas plates at the flea market and got 8 for $15. We are loving using them for every day this month. The red ball wreath is serving as a very simple centerpiece.
Here’s another shot of the wall with the sink, stove and pantry. I hung garland again above the sink, and added a few more Christmas touches to the vignettes on either side of the stove.
Christmas Shelves & Mugs
I hung my favorite Christmas sign by the coffee maker, along with some cute Rae Dunn Christmas mugs.
And the biggest reason the kitchen looks less cluttered this year is because of the new shelves! There was an empty nook on the other side of the pantry, and my husband and I finally got around to adding some open shelving here. Only took three years … but it’s fine because they are awesome.
The shelves are 12-inch deep, which makes them perfect for displaying some of my serving ware. I mixed in milk glass pieces, with a collection of Pfaltzgraff Christmas pieces. I’m loving finally having a place to display a collection.
And that’s our Christmas kitchen! Next up is the master bedroom, and then a quick tour of the exterior.
Shared on Tablescape Thursday.
