Spring Home Tour: Masters Tablescape

April 6, 2016 By: lovelandlodgecomment

Following the cheerful Easter table setting, the eggs got put away and the pretty pastel table runner got swapped out (but it may make a reappearance for Mother’s Day). Since our azaleas are in bloom this week, I thought it would be fun to continue to golf theme from Monday and go with a Masters themed tablescape. Figure as long as golf is constantly on in the background, I might as well get some decor and blog posts out of it. 😉 Given the mild winter we had here, the azaleas bloomed early and I suspect won’t last beyond this weekend. Gotta use ’em while I got ’em!

Using azaleas to create a golf themed spring dining room

As the backdrop for the table setting, I used a green and yellow runner I found at the Williams Sonoma outlet on clearance a few weeks ago. The green and yellow are perfect colors for a golf themed-party, and I’ll use it again for summer when I bring in some pops of yellow.

After the table runner, and my placemats from Crate & Barrel (I don’t think I’ll ever tire of these), I grabbed two glass vases from Ikea and filled them with some pink azalea blossoms from the yard. Azaleas are a difficult to trim so the bouquets are free form, but oh so pretty.

The Ikea vases are great to have on hand

For the centerpiece, I filled my DIY utensil caddie with the same green moss balls I used for Easter, and some extra golf balls. We have no shortage of golf balls in our house …

And since I had so many golf balls, I used one on each place setting, using my napkin rings to hold the ball in place.

Simple, easy place setting

I added some more azaleas to the buffet, where the faux hydrangea usually live. The pops of hot pink are a great welcome for spring! I also trimmed a few white ones for our kitchen - I’ll be sharing a spring kitchen tour next week with more.

How do you use blossoms from your yard? It’s a great cost-effective way to add fresh flowers to your home.
