Look for Less: Botanical Prints & Master Bedroom Planning

February 26, 2016 By: lovelandlodge3 Comments

As I start thinking about what art work to hang over the bed in the master bedroom, I’m really loving the botanical prints you’re seeing around. I love love love these ones from Ballard Design, but they are out of my price range for now. For one or two, I might be able to swing it, but I need 4 to 6 for the master bedroom and that is way more than I currently want to spend. I’ve been hunting around for something that’s similar, but more within my price range. My plan is to some old existing album frames I have that are 12×12 and the intermingle with some other type of three-dimensional art - maybe tiles or wood carvings of some sort?

Anyways, I rounded up a few other affordable options for botanical prints - not all of these fit my criteria since I need a specific size, but I thought all were great options and a good way to get the same look for significantly less than the designer ones. I know some people have had great luck finding vintage books with similar prints, but I haven’t found one so finding some more affordable options is the direction I’m heading. What do you think of the botanical print trend? Love it or leave it?

  1. Nordstrom Rack A&B Home Flower Wall Plaques: The colors in these make me think of spring and the soft tones are really nice, along with the rustic feel. The size on these is also amazing - 20×28 each? that Could cover a pretty large wall. Most of the ones I’ve seen at this price point are significantly smaller. These come is a set of 4 for $79.97 so at $20 apiece, that’s a pretty good deal.

  2. Etsy Beach House Gallery Botanical Prints: If you’re looking for a more neutral look, the sepia color of these prints could work really well. In our bedroom, the orange is a pretty bold accent color and I get nervous about adding more colors so I’m leaning towards something like this to not compete with the orange. And, the great thing about Etsy, is that you can customize the size (which does impact price), but get what you need. These are $44 for a set of 6 in 5×7.

  3. Kirklands: There really isn’t a Kirlands near me that I’m aware of, but I know a lot of other home bloggers love their stuff and it is really affordable. If you’re willing to mix and match a little bit, the Ophelia Floral Print I and II are gorgeous. And they are currently on sale for $15.98 each, which is a steal.

  4. Etsy Belle Botanical: This Etsy shop has a ton of different options, but the white ones really jumped out at me. Super elegant and understated, with just enough color to add some interest. Oh how I wish these came in 12×12! A set of 6 5×7 prints is $60.

I’m still searching for the right ones for the master bedroom, but it’s good to know there are so many options out there!
