While I don’t decorate fully for every holiday (only Christmas!), I like to add some festive touches here and there. Last week, I shared our Fourth of July dining room and extended the red, white and blue to the kitchen this week. This was a super easy craft, and though not perfect, adds a fun touch above the stove. Originally, the plan was to use a picture frame, but it ended up being too tall for the space. So, I went with something a little more homemade for this year and will keep searching for the right size frame for the future.
Supplies:
- Foam core board (from the Dollar Tree)
- Basket liners from Target
- Independence Day art from Etsy
- Scotch tape
First, I figured out what size I needed and cut the foam core board down. Then, I taped the pieces of basket liner to the foam core, creating a pattern. It was a little tricky to get the pattern right, and it’s not perfect! I wrapped the end pieces around like a present and taped the backs down.
I placed the art in the center and used folded over tape to place on the foam core board.
The project took a total of about 10 minutes. The hardest part was lining up the patterns on the basket liner as not all the pieces were cut the same way.
I placed above the stove and it fills the space nicely. It will probably only last this year, but since I bought the image from Etsy, I can easily print out and use again next year.
Do you have 4th of July decor to your kitchen? How so?

How cute! I have to tell you, we have that exact same backsplash in our kitchen. I really like it. I love to change out art seasonally in the kitchen and often lean it just like you did. 🙂

Thank you Stacey! I did the same one in my kitchen in my old condo and liked it so much, used it again! It’s a winner 🙂
