For this year’s Christmas decor, I really wanted to use some stocking hangers. Last year, I used clear Command strips to adhere to the mantle, which worked well, but it really felt like the mantle was missing something. I found these really cute ones at HomeGoods that spelled Noel, but I wasn’t really ready to spend $30 on them (instead, I used Noel for my wine rack sign). So, I headed to the Dollar Tree to see what I could find instead. Lucky me, they had some stocking hangers with snowflakes and deer decoration.
I purchased four, but wasn’t really digging the clear, sparkles and gold. Out came the trusty can of white spray paint and after two coats on each one, I now had some great neutral stocking hangers for the mantle. I debated at first on what color I wanted to spray paint them, but I liked the idea of white to match the red and white striped ribbon and the white frame on the mirror. Of course, right after I placed these, I knocked one of the snowflakes off and broke part of it, but some Gorilla glue meant I was back in action!
I will fully admit that these are not the highest quality – they are Dollar Tree after all! I’m not sure if I would use these with kids as they aren’t weighted very much and could easily be pulled down, but for now they are out of reach from our dogs 🙂
