Ever since I saw the Ballard Designs fall catalog, I knew I wanted to incorporate some olive green into my fall decor. Olive green is like the deeper, moodier cousin of greenery, Pantone’s 2017 color of the year. While navy blue still is my No. 1, this color immediately caught my eye.
While you probably won’t see me painting any walls green (though olive green would be amazing in a powder room), there are a few ways to temporarily add olive green to your fall decor.

Faux Greenery
I bought a few olive leaf stems from Hobby Lobby and added to a striped vase on the console behind the love seat. The vase was a flea market find for $6 🙂
A faux olive leaf wreath is a great way to bring in some of this color as well. I’m contemplating swapping out the boxtree wreath over the fireplace for this one from Amazon.
Target also has a taller olive tree that would look great in a basket. It still amazes me how far faux greenery has come.
Throw Pillows
You know my obsession with throw pillows. Swapping out pillow covers is one of the best ways to refresh your home for the season. Plus, they are easy to store when not in use. I picked up these large 22×22 olive green pillow covers from Amazon.
Joss and Main has some really pretty velvet pillow covers too.
Glassware
You saw some of the green glasses I used in the fall tablescape, and I loved how the color played off the mustard Dollar Tree pumpkins. And glasses aren’t just for beverages. Add some clippings from the yard to create a floral display, or pop in a faux candle for a quick candleholder.
I also have some of these wine bottle candles and love the green glass.
Wood Beads
I found these dark green wood beads on clearance at the Pottery Barn Outlet last spring. You saw them with my faux succulents earlier this year, and they are currently in the living room on the coffee table. I found some similar ones on Etsy, but you could always buy the plain ones and paint to make your own.
Linens
Kitchen and table linens are two more easy ways to bring in a new color to your home without making too much of a commitment. I love having a stash of cloth napkins in various colors, and these from World Market are some of my favorites. In the fall tablescpae, I used a table runner that has a hint of olive green, along with blues, and played off those colors.
And these botanical kitchen towels are really pretty too.
What colors are you using for fall decor? Are you sticking to your tried and true or trying anything new this year?
