Hello and welcome to day two of our spring tablescape blog hop! Today, I’m sharing our Farmhouse Easter Tablescape. It’s simple with some vintage charm and some bunny-inspired napkins. Let’s hop to it! (couldn’t help myself on that one 😉
Centerpiece
Rather than go with a traditional floral arrangement, I decided to bring spring indoors. I purchased a few new terra cotta pots from Lowe’s and gave them a quick makeover to give them an aged look. I don’t have a tutorial for this, but there are tons online. In fact, Joanna Gaines just posted a tutorial at Magnolia this week (aka The Mothership).
(Affiliate links included below for your convenience. You can full my full disclosure policy here.)
For these, I used some leftover, almost dried up chalk paint (kid gloves from Valspar). I dabbed the end of a paintbrush in the paint, blotted on a paper towel and then dry brushed around the pots. They only take about 10-minutes to dry and they are ready for planting!
In the larger pots, I used ornamental cabbage. In the smaller pots, I used these pretty little white flowers. No idea what they are called, but they reminded me of clovers and spring.
The great thing about using outdoor plants is that I am able to re-use these on our front porch. Except it’s so cold right now, they are all currently inside. Hoping that spring shows up very soon!
Place Setting
For the table runner, I used an outdoor blanket (similar one here), last seen in the fall on the back porch. At each place setting, white plates from Crate & Barrel are simple and practical. At the head places, some pretty copper wine glasses (currently on sale!) from World Market add another little pop of color.
On the plates, navy folded napkins (you can find them here) resemble bunny ears. I’ll share the super simple tutorial for these tomorrow. Basically, I attempted to make the Martha Stewart version, and after a few attempts, failed horribly (check out Shirley’s post at Intelligent Domestications if you want to see some of the real-deal bunny napkins!).
A few pieces of silver finish off the table. I’m really trying to use my silver on a more regular basis and not worry about the patina. It’s no use sitting in a closet never to be used!
Make sure to check out all the other blogs below. And come back next week, where I’ll be sharing an entirely different spring tablescape. Shared on Tablescape Thursday
