The temps outside might not agree, but the calendar definitely says fall. Today, I’m sharing some updates in our kitchen, hoping to inspire you with some fall kitchen decor ideas. And, I’m excited to share some recent progress since you last saw our kitchen.
Kitchen Updates
You might notice one big change – new lights! I started searching for some new pendant lights during the summer and finally pulled the trigger. First, I wanted to bring in some more black to add some industrial touches to the kitchen. Second, I wanted something a little lighter feeling.

This black barn light is perfect for the above the sink and is a great price too. I like to leave this one on at night or when we’re not home for a softer glow. I still need to repair the ceiling as the base of this one is slightly smaller than the old light, but otherwise, it’s a win.
The pendant lights are from Wayfair. in brushed nickel, but there are lots of similar options out there at various price points and finishes. As you can see, the cords still need to straighten out some, but that will happen over time. The clear glass globes make the whole room brighter and less heavy. The black cord is the perfect touch. Next on the list for industrial touches is the curtain rod and some shelving.
Flowers & Pumpkins
An easy way to add fall touches is with flowers – fresh or faux. The dried hydrangea work for pretty much every season (except winter?) and they bring some great texture to this little corner.
The little mint velvet pumpkin is nice little fall touch too.
On the island, I added some fresh sunflowers to a blue and white pitcher (I found mine at the flea market, but here’s a similar one). The blue and white pumpkins from my fall tablescape found a new home in the kitchen too.
My original plan was to add the sunflowers to the large blue and white ginger jar, but they were too droopy. I cut the stems down and added them to added them to a shorter vase. A quick tip if you have droopy flowers too!
Signs & Towels
You already saw my gather sign hanging above the stove.
I also added this cute hello fall dish towel from Target Dollar Spot to the oven. This pumpkin pie towel is adorable too, and I like that it’s neutral. Lots of little touches for fall, but I’m loving the overall look.
What do you add to your kitchen for fall?
