In addition to the picture I found at the Ballard Designs outlet (see pic here), I also wanted to add a little artwork to the the left of the sink and vanity. I looked around for some cute bathroom canvases, but didn’t find anything I liked. So, I decided to create my own. easy bathroom artwork. This DIY took me all of 10 minutes and yet, turned out really well. I like those kinds of returns on time investment!
First, I found three 5×7 frames at Homegoods that would work with the bathroom colors. While I love Homegoods, one of the challenges of shopping there is finding multiples of items – and I don’t really have time to drive to multiple stores around the Atlanta-metro to find more than one or two. My solution instead is usually to mix and match, which is more my style anyways. Hey, sometimes necessity breeds creativity, after all. I picked up two blue frames that had some silver dry brush that matched the wall color and brushed nickel fixtures, and one weathered wood frame.
For the saying, I browsed around online and settled on Lather, Rinse, Repeat. The other option was Brush, Wash, Flush, but I liked the first one just a little more – in the end, I wasn’t too sure about having the word “flush” on my wall! I used PicMonkey (free online editing – or you can pay $30 for a year) to create the artwork. I decided to go with a slightly whimsical font as I thought it played well off the stripes, but PicMonkey has a ton of great font choices and many of them would work.
I created 5×7 images of each word and printed in a gray color to match the decor, cut each one and placed in the frames. From there, I hung these the frames on the wall!
