Due to the mild winter this year, many of our plants are already starting to bloom. Our white azaleas are poking out, and the pink ones are on their way. With another gorgeous weekend, I decided it was time to pack away the winter decor and bring out some spring colors. I headed to the closest grocery store with a decent flower selection to see what I could find. While I wish there was a Trader Joe’s close by, there’s not one convenient to my house. However, the Kroger near me has a pretty good floral department. I’m loving this early spring centerpiece to welcome a new season!
First, I picked out a few bouquets all in white. To make an at home centerpiece, I find it’s best to use a cohesive color palate throughout the arrangements. Each of the small bouquets were $5 and I ended up with four of them, including some various mums, daisies, tulips and more (and by more, I mean I don’t really know what it was, but it was pretty). For this one, I went with all white bouquets. I passed up some really pretty purple flowers, but there wasn’t enough variety to go with purple this time around.
Next up, I gathered various vases and vessels for the arrangements. A few milk glass vases, plus some ginger jars and a pitcher. Dividing the flowers up by type to arrange, I added them to the vases one at a time until they looked right.
I arranged the vases of flowers in the center of the dining table, until I found some balance. It’s not symmetrical since all my vases are different heights, but did want to make sure it was pleasing to the eye. The table runner is new from the Williams Sonoma Outlet. This is now my favorite place to pick up table linens (and other goodies!). The one north of Atlanta has a clearance section all the way in the back corner and if you spend some time looking, you can find some real goodies. I bought this table runner for $10, along with some outdoor wine glasses (6 for $10).
The dough bowl moved to the buffet, and some pretty faux peonies replaced the winter greenery. The decorative wood beads are also an outlet mall find (can you tell I had fun?) from Pottery Barn.
How are you bringing spring into your home?

This is so pretty and no longer will I pass up grocery store flowers. I love the simplicity of the arrangement. It feels doable for a novice like me.

Thank you, Sandra! There’s no method I use – just arrange them until you like them! It does help to get flowers that have different height to give some more dimension.
