Charleston has so many amazing restaurants and we tried to hit as many as possible. I will say - book your reservations early! I booked ours a few weeks (3ish) in advance, but still didn't get in everywhere we wanted. So consider this a list you can reference if you can't get reservations at FIG or Husk (though we did end up eating at Husk). We happened to walk by FIG right as it was opening so we popped in to see if we could eat the bar. Eight minutes after opening at 5 p.m., the bar was ... [ Read More ]
Adventures: Charleston Tours
It's hard to believe that summer is winding down. Back in May, the hubs and I took a trip to Charleston and loved every minute of it. It was the perfect getaway - we went for 5 days, 4 nights, and explored and ate until our hearts were content. One trick that helped us relax is that we went Monday through Friday. Instead of packing in a rush to get out the door on a Saturday morning after a week of work, we had all weekend to pack. On the back-end, we had the weekend to do laundry, catch-up on ... Adventures: Biltmore Blooms
I recently took a girls' trip up to Asheville for the weekend and we visited the Biltmore Estate as part of our trip. I went a few years ago during Christmas and loved it! This time, it was a totally different season and a very different experience. Surprisingly, it was a lot more crowded than when we went for Christmas. And hot. Adventures: Wizarding World of Harry Potter
In April, a few girlfriends and I headed down for a weekend getaway to Orlando. While we did do a day at the Magic Kingdom, our primary objective for going was to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure. If you're a fan of the books or movies, I highly recommend going. The main sentence we kept repeating during our day as "this is so well done." The details are incredible and you really feel like you're stepping onto the movie set or into the ... [ Read More ]
Exploring New Orleans (mainly through my stomach)
New Orleans will always and forever be a special place for me. I'm not really sure why, but something about that city gets me every time. It's got a spirit, energy and grit, plus hospitality and food, unmatched to any other place I've been (which includes some amazing cities). If you've never been, I can't recommend highly enough that you do yourself a favor and head down. It's a great long weekend from Atlanta and the flights are very reasonable with Southwest flying there now. I went ... [ Read More ]
