Sharing Sweet Treats
I don’t know about you, but I always seem to spend more time in the kitchen during the holiday season. And it’s all for good reason! Whether it’s baking cookies with my Dad to continue the tradition my grandma and I had growing up, or making toffee bars to share , my love of baking is in full force in December. It’s fun to take sweet treats to my coworkers to thank them for all they’ve done during the past year, or share with neighbors and friends. Giving toffee bars to others if a fun tradition to keep going as my mom always made these every year and shared them with her friends and colleagues (and continues to do so!).
This year, I headed to At Home to see what I could find to hold the sweet treats, and they delivered. From cups, to bowls to carry out containers, the options were endless. I finally settled on a solid mix to use and got to baking. After making a batch of toffee bars (full recipe found here), I filled the various containers and am ready to deliver these sweet treats!
I’m also smitten by anything mini, so added in two spatulas for a little bonus. And if you run out of treats (or you just don’t feel like baking, which is totally legit!), you can always use some other candy, like Hershey’s Kisses in the little snowman bowl.
The cups came in a pack of 10, and filled with a few toffee pieces are the perfect size to make multiple gifts. I usually end up making about 20 bags of toffee bars so if I use containers that are too big, it can get quite time consuming!
And who doesn’t like a little basket with bells? A touch of plaid and it’s gift-ready!
We’re having holiday luncheon at the office next week, and I’m planning to bring in a plate full to share as my contribution to the potluck. The snowman tin plate is great for transport and makes for perfect decor in the kitchen too. In case you can’t tell, I used a ton of plaid this year for decorating.
And of course, I couldn’t resist picking up a few additional items to bring the seasonal spirit to the kitchen. After all, if I’m going to spend so much time in the kitchen during the holiday season, I want it to be as festive as possible! Loved the oven mitts and the little gingerbread measuring spoons. I have a lot of red kitchen decor in general, so it all goes perfectly with everything I already owned.
And more plaid on the kitchen island with plates and ribbon. I added some ornaments and holly from our yard to the wood sleigh and birch vase. We typically eat breakfast here on the weekends so it’s fun to have Christmas cheer ready to go for lazy Saturday mornings.

Everything looks so Christmasy Jenn! I love your finds and bringing treats to the office is always great at Christmas time. The gingerbread measuring spoons are too cute! All your touches of red in the kitchen looks beautiful. It needs it’s own decor, doesn’t it? I have never made toffee bars and I’m sure your co-workers will enjoy it!!! The bars will be really festive in the cups and bowls and the little spatula is a great addition!!

Love these ideas! One of our favorite traditions has been making gingerbread houses, or in recent years, graham wafer mini houses.
